Lucknow
Location: Bruce County N 43 57.607 W -81 30.799
531 Campbell street, in front of the library.
This attractive cenotaph was erected in 1929 by the Lucknow Women's Institute, as a memorial to those men from Lucknow who fell in the Great War. The statue was added one year later, being carved of Italian marble in the same location and same time as the statue found on the Teeswater cenotaph. The original statue, during my visit, was standing in front of the local Legion, and a new statue was erected on top of the cenotaph. The entire cenotaph seems to have been completely refurbished at some time, the names updated and the statue made to look fresh and ready to stand for many years to come.
