Location: Lambton County N 42 49.257 W -81 51.737
At 3251 River Street, in front of the library.
This beautiful memorial was unveiled in June 1921, to a great ceremony of local fanfare. It was created by the famous sculptor Emanuel Hahn, and is a similar to the memorial at Malvern Collegiate in Toronto. It depicts a young man holding up the broken chain of tyranny. Engraved on the base are the names of fifteen area men killed in the First World War and eight names of men lost in the Second World War. A small fence and a garden surround the monument.
