Location: Greater Sudbury N 46 24.119 W -81 11.732
In front of the Community Centre, 1955 Regional Road 55 (Old Highway 17).
This memorial is sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion and the 2964 Walden Irish Army Cadets. It was moved to this site in November 2003 and re-dedicated at that time. The Cadets are affiliated with the 2nd Battalion Irish Regiment of Canada. They have three primary goals. To develop in youth the attributes of leadership and good citizenship, promote physical fitness, and to stimulate an interest in the Sea, Army and Air activities of the Canadian Armed Forces.
The memorial plays a role in honouring those who have served and in teaching the youth about the role of history, service and honour. The memorial lists a group of sponsors as well as recognizing the major conflicts and the sacrifices made by those who gave all.
