Casselman

Location:  N 45° 18.783 W 075° 05.197  On the east side of Principale Street, or Regional Road 3, in front of the church.


The Casselman memorial is located in a small park in front of the church rectory. It features a cross atop a cenotaph, feturing the names of those from the Casselman area. The cross is adorned with a downward pointed sword. The memorial is approximatley 4 metres high and is flanked by a walkway, and three flag poles, as well as flowerpots when in season.
This memorial, dedicated in 1946, does not mention any specific wars or conflicts, only the names of local men who did not return from action. It is a large cross, originally placed on the right side of the church, which is now a parking lot. It now sits in front of the church rectory, which was once the former municipal building.
The engraving of some of the names is very weak, and difficult to read.
Casselman is a French-speaking town and as such, all inscriptions are written in either French or Latin.
