Markham
Location: N 43° 52.410 W 079° 15.552 In front of the Markham Village Community Centre, at the southeast corner of Highway 7 and Main Street.
Somewhat unconventional memorial, consists of a central stele with a cross, and eight surrounding pillars. Very few words are mentioned, and no wars or names appear on this memorial. Far too politically correct in my opinion, I never even recognized it as a memorial at first glance. In my opinion this is an insult to the brave men of the Markham area that died for their country.
It was dedicated on June 6, 1981.
