Mount Hope - Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum
Location: Hamilton N 43° 09.555 W 079° 55.539
Located at the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport, on Airport Road, east of the village of Mount Hope.
This memorial is primarily a museum, featuring several military aircraft, on display, and most in flying condition. An outstanding place to visit, the museum shows inter-active displays and workshops, flight simulators, videos, photographs and memorabilia from the the early days of World War II to the present.
The museum takes great pride in restoration projects and the airworthy condition of their fleet of outstanding aircraft. Each aircraft in this collection has been meticulously restored by volunteers, and each has its own story and incredible history. The Avro Lancaster is one of only two in the world still capable of flight, of the 7300 originally built.
