Location: Nippising District N 46 18.758 W 79 27.610
Memorial Park is located at the corner of First Avenue and Ferguson Street.
The Vimy Ridge Memorial Wall is part of the larger memorial park in downtown North Bay. The wall was dedicated in November, 2000. It has individual plaques for each soldier from this district who was lost in the epic battle.
Three plaques can also be found on the wall dedicated to the men of the Ontario Northland Railway, the Canadian Pacific Railway and the North Bay Collegiate Institute, who served in the two World Wars.
A smaller wall was also erected to give a brief history of the battle and to acknowledge the generous sponsors of the Project Flanders.

THE BATTLE OF VIMY RIDGE
APRIL 9, 1917
ALWAYS SEEKING THE ELUSIVE BREAKTHROUGH, THE ALLIES PLANNED A MASSIVE OFFENSIVE IN EARLY 1917. THE CANADIAN CORPS WITH ALL FOUR OF ITS DIVISIONS WOULD DELIVER AN ATTACK AGAINST VIMY RIDGE. THE RIDGE WAS THE KEY TO THE HINDENBURG LINE IN THE GERMAN DEFENCE SYSTEM. THE VICTORY AT VIMY RIDGE CAME SWIFTLY. IT DID NOT COME WITHOUT COST. 3,598 DEAD AND 10,602 CASUALTIES. THIS VICTORY WAS THE PROFOUND TURNING POINT FOR THE ALLIES, AS A YEAR AND A HALF LATER THE WAR WAS OVER.

(Ontario crest)
IN MEMORY OF THOSE IN THE SERVICE OF
THE ONTARIO NORTHLAND WHO, IN THE
CALL OF SOVEREIGN AND COUNTRY, GAVE
THEIR LIVES, IN THE FIRST AND SECOND
WORLD WARS; FIGHTING UNSELFISHLY FOR
THE FREEDOM THAT THEY CHERISHED THEN
AND THAT WHICH WE CHERISH TODAY.
THEY ARE NOT FORGOTTEN, THE
RICHES OF OUR CANADIAN WAY OF
LIFE ARE A REFLECTION OF WHAT
THEY STRIVED TO PRESERVE.

CP Railway:
THIS TABLET COMMEMORATES THOSE IN THE SERVICE
OF THE CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILWAY COMPANY WHO
AT THE CALL OF KING AND COUNTRY LEFT ALL THAT
WAS DEAR TO THEM, ENDURED HARDSHIP, FACED DANGER
AND FINALLY PASSED OUT OF SIGHT OF MEN BY THE
PATH OF DUTY AND SELF SACRIFICE, GIVING UP THEIR
OWN LIVES THAT OTHERS MAY LIVE IN FREEDOM.
LET THOSE WHO COME AFTER SEE TO IT
THAT THEIR NAMES NOT BE FORGOTTEN.
