Location: City of Toronto N 43.65617 N -79.38889
In the middle of University Avenue at Elm Street.
This memorial was erected in 1923 by the Toronto District of the Sons of England Benefit Society. The memorial was designed by Charles Adamson, who was born in Scotland in 1880 and proudly served in the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the Great War of 1914 - 1918. The memorial depicts a bronze statue on top of a granite shaft that lists the names of the men from the Sons of England Society who died in the Great War. The monument is flanked by three lions, a symbol of England. A truly stunning memorial to those who gave all for King and Country.
