Magnetawan no longer hosts a legion branch, but this memorial park still stands in memory and honour of those who served.
This is an impressive stone memorial, with a plaque and adorned by a brass cross and poppies. The park was dedicated in 2003.
The Magnetawan Legion has since joined forces with the nearby Dunchurch Branch #394.
The plaque reads as follows:
IN MEMORY AND HONOUR
OF THOSE WHO SERVED
IN
WORLD WAR 1 1914-1918
WORLD WAR 2 1939-1945
KOREAN CONFLICT 1950-1953
AND IN
CANADA'S PEACEKEEPING
MISSIONS
AT HOME AND ABROAD
"To you...we throw the torch..."
LEST WE FORGET
