Buckhorn - Wall of Honour

Location:  Peterborough County     N 44.55588   W -78.34691

On the east side of Lakehurst Road, beside the deer statue and Lock 31.

The Wall of Honour was built by Buckhorn residents Carolle Beyore and husband Kevin Stewart.  The display was reconstructed from the original structure, showing every Canadian soldier that lost his/her life in Afghanistan.  Their goal is to make everyone who passes it aware of the sacrifices made by our troops.  The granite benches were added in 2014 after a fundraising effort led by Beyore.  The memorial is a wonderful tribute to the men and women who served in Afghanistan and to those who made the supreme sacrifice while helping to free the people of of that far away land.  "Thank you for our freedom."
