Plevna

Location:  Frontenac County     N 44 57.862   W 76 59.292
On Buckshot Lake Road, at the Clarendon Miller Community Hall.

This memorial was unveiled In August 2015, represents the Township of North Frontenac.  It was designed by Councilor Gerry Martin and constructed with help of local volunteers and the Northbrook Legion Branch 328.  The majority of the costs where covered with the help of Frontenac County and the Federal Gas Tax monies.  The beautiful artwork engraved on this cenotaph includes elements of the Boer War, the World Wars and Korea, as well as Peacekeepers.  During the First World War a local regiment trained in Plevna before heading overseas.
No names are listed on this memorial, simply a thought and poem of Remembrance, repeated in French and English.

London - Manor Park

Location:  City of London     N 42 57.93   W 81 15.753
At the corner of Briscoe Street West and Holborn Avenue, in front of the Church of the Epiphany.

This memorial is dedicated to the men of the Manor Park area of London.  Originally erected in 1925, the monument was re-dedicated again in 1985.  The plaque on the front list the names of the dead from the First World War along with some of the major battles.  Plaques on the sides of the monument recognize the conflicts of the Second World War and Korea, although no names are listed in relation to these wars.  The statue was made by the Artcast Company of Georgetown, Ontario.  It features a WWI soldier standing guard over his lost comrades.  This is an otherwise forgotten memorial in the suburbs of the city, but the names of the lost live on in Remembrance.  The Church of the Epiphany holds a Memorial Service here on the last Saturday of October, and holds several Honour Rolls within the church.

In the cemetery at 239 Bruce County Road 9.

This memorial honours the men from Albemarle Township who made the supreme sacrifice in the World Wars.   Although the township no longer exists, having been amalgamated in 1999, the Edgehill Cemetery here in Colpoy's Bay still pays honour to its fallen heroes with this memorial and several military graves found throughout the grounds.  Four names from WWI and three from WWII are listed, as well as Korea and Peacekeeping.

Harold

Location:  Hastings County     N 44 22.670   W 77 35.916
At 4285 Stirling-Marmora Road, just north of Harold Road.

This memorial is dedicated to the men of Stirling-Rawdon Township who served and died in the World Wars.  Situated in the small hamlet of Harold, this is now little more than a rural crossroads, but 100 years ago was a thriving agricultural community.
An attractive memorial of red granite topped with a bust of a WWI soldier, this monument was erected in 1922.  It is flanked by two German MG08 machine guns, reportedly brought back from Vimy Ridge.  The grounds are well kept and the memorial in excellent condition.  A fine tribute to the heroes of the past wars and to the 5,000 citizens of this township who take pride in their memorial.
