Kingston R.C.H.A.

Location:  Frontenac County   N 44 13.419  W 76 29.391
In the park, at King Street and Barrie Street.

This is the National Royal Canadian Horse Artillery Memorial, the only one of its kind in Canada dedicated exclusively to the RCHA.  It was erected in 1921 by General Burstall, and then updated and re-dedicated again in 1951 by FM Lord Alexander.
The memorial consists of a large granite structure with brass plaques to honour those lost in the Great War and World War II.  There are also plaques to recognize the Battle Honours of this famous regiment.  The memorial is flanked by two artillery cannons from the 1800s, and fronted by a WWII 25-pounder gun which features plaques from the Royal Canadian Regiment in Korea, the PPCLI and RCR from Afghanistan.
The RCHA has been an integral part of all military actions in all wars that Canada has served.  The strategic use of the artillery was a key component in the victory at Vimy Ridge, and has proudly supported our ground troops in every battle since that time.
