On the grounds of Orangeville Greenwood Cemetery, 21 Dufferin County Road 16.
This beautiful new memorial was placed in the Orangeville Greenwood Cemetery on June 16, 2022. The engraving on the black granite stone is remarkable. I found out about this new memorial from social media of the Orangeville Legion, who seem to be unaware of any of the details regarding the origin of the new memorial. When more information is available, I will certainly update this post. Strange that the folks at the local Legion seem unaware of the monument, even though the Legion crest and poppies are quite prominent on the stone. Perhaps this will all become clearer in the near future. In the meantime, please take a look at the photos or visit in person to admire the stunning graphics on this memorial.
Marker text:
They shall not grow old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them.
We will remember them.
