Barrie
Location: N 44° 23.339 W 079° 41.276 In downtown Barrie, on the south side of Dunlop Street, at Memorial Square, which is actually oval.
This memorial was unveiled in 1922, to honour the men from Barrie, Vespra and Innisfil, who fell in the Great War. It consists of a statue made from local Barrie granite, on top of a shaft which bears the names and inscriptions.
Two other columns were added later to include the names of those who gave their lives in World War 2, Korea and Afghanistan.
