Burford
Location: Brant County N 43 06.040 W 80 25.548
On the east side of Park Avenue, beside the fairgrounds.
A very attractive fieldstone cairn, honours those who made the supreme sacrifice in defence of our country.
The memorial is situated in a small parkette, surrounded by a white fence. It was erected by Branch 543 of the Royal Canadian Legion, dedicated on June 11, 1967.
There are two plaques on the face of the memorial, the first is the general tribute to all those who from Burford Township who died for their country. The second smaller plaque is a personalized honour of an airman, on behalf of his family.
I tried a different photographic technique with this memorial, and the light was fading at the time. Not my usual clear results, just something different.
