Kingston - I.O.D.E. Cenotaph

Location:  Frontenac County   N 44 13.342  076 29.480
On the south side of King Street, at George Street, beside the Murney Tower.

Kingston has a long and proud military history, perhaps more so than any city in Canada.  After the Great War, the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire commissioned this wonderful cenotaph to honour the brave men and women of Kingston who gave their lives in the war.  It was erected in 1925, to great fanfare and great thanks for the sacrifices made.
Later the dates of the Second World War and Korea where added to the memorial, which proudly stands in the shadow of the impressive Murney Tower.
