Port Burwell

Location:  Elgin County   N 42 38.749  W 080 48.317
20 Pitt Street, on the corner of Pitt Street and Erius Street

Located in Ken Kirkpatrick Memorial Park, this fabulous memorial was erected in 1929 in honour of those killed on the First World War.  A plaque added later recognizes those lost in the Second World War.  The parkette is beautifully tended, with an abundance of flowers and shrubs.  An anchor rests at the foot of the steps leading into the parkette, and a plaque honouring Ken Kirkpatrick is also found at the entrance.

A short distance to the west, can be found the H.M.C.S. Ojibwa, and Oberon Class submarine that acts as a living museum, offering tours and gift shop.  Don't miss this great piece of history, and a wonderful tour.
