Niagara Falls - Fairview Cemetery

Location:  Niagara Region   N 43.108053   W -79.089189
In the centre of Fairview Cemetery, 4501 Stanley Avenue.

In the centre of the Fairview Cemetery, we can find the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a monument to all those who gave their lives and services in the name of their country, without recognition or regard to their own safety.  In World War I, many of these lost men have their names inscribed in the famous Menin Gate, but here at home there is no known grave, nowhere to pay our respects.  The memorial was dedicated in this location in September 2017.  The cemetery is the final resting place for many who served in the armed forces, with several areas of the cemetery dedicated as "Veteran's Plot".
In addition to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the small memorial park also includes a separate dedication stone, several benches, two flag poles and a young Vimy Oak. The memorial was made by
Kirkpatrick Monuments of Niagara Falls.

Thank you to Kathy Koabel for alerting me to this location and for providing some of the photos.

To all who served, we pay our respect and say a great Thank You.
