Kingston - Burma Star

 
Location:  Frontenac County     N 44 13.514   W -76 29.225
Found in Kingston City Park, near the end of Wellington Street and west of West Street.
 
This memorial was erected by the Burma Star Association, in 1995 to honour all those who bravely fought in the Burma Campaign during World War II.   The Burma Star Association is a British-based veteran's group for all ex-servicemen and women who served in that campaign.  They have several branches of the association throughout the world, this being the Eastern Ontario Branch represented here on this monument.  The veterans who are members of the association are listed on the back of the memorial.
