Lindsay - Midland Regiment
Location : N44 21.005 W078 46.054 Along Highway 35, just north of Highway 7.
This 50 kilometre stretch of Highway 35, from Lindsay to Norland, has been dedicated as The Midland Regiment Commemorative Highway, by the Province of Ontario.
On November 10, 2009, just in time for Remembrance Day, the highway was officially renamed the Midland Regiment Commemorative Highway. The name change was requested by the Lindsay Legion, hoping to honour the courageous men and women of the Canadian military who served with the regiment during the Second World War.
For the 9,000 drivers who make their way across the highway every day, it will be a lasting legacy in remembrance and respect of the troops of the Midland Regiment.
