Chippawa

Location:  N 43° 03.557 W 079° 03.061  Located in a small town park, at the corner of Portage Road and Bridgewater Street, on the south side of Chippawa Creek.

This Memorial lists the members of the community that died serving our country during the "The Great World War", and also dedicated to those that died in other wars.  The memorial was placed by the Father of one of the casualties, and lists specific names, battles and dates of those involved in the First World War, as well as a lower section to those from World War 2 and Korea. However, the main content is from World War .  It was dedicated in 1960.
I cannot be sure if the current plaque was installed at a later date, and covers a weathered inscription on the stone...or if this was the original  design.
