Williamstown

Location:  N 45° 08.744 W 074° 34.861  On County Road 19, south of County Road 17, in a small park on the corner.


Williamstown is home to five Ontario Historic Plaques, two National Historic sites, a museum decicated to the Nor'Westers, and has a long history of early settlement.
This monument was dedicated in 1953, by the Williamstown Community Club. The service included many veterans, legion members from Williamstown and nearby Lancaster, the high school band, a Cadet Band, Air Cadets, and the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Highlanders.
The monument is a grey granite stele, with two plaques, one for WW1 and one for WW2. It is located in a small memorial park at a main intersection in this small town. The monument is on a raised piece of ground, with shrubs and a stone walkway. The grounds are very well kept.
