Claremont

Location:  Durham Region  N 43° 58.186 W 079° 07.740
At the entrance to the town park, on the east side of  Old Brock Road.  Beside the fire station.

This gateway to the Claremont Town Park, features two bronze plaques mounted on either side of the gates.  Dedicated to those who died and those who served in the Great War.  The plaques themselves appear to be much older than the stone masonry of the gates.  This was the first time I had seen the names of nurses included on the long list of heroes.  A nice tribute to the dedicated men and women from this small community.
